Smoke Alarms
Smoke alarms complying with EN14604:2005/AC:2008 for residential use shall be installed in all rooms excluding bathrooms and kitchens including bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, corridors and basements to promptly detect smoke and warn occupants of household fires.
Carbon Monoxide Alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms complying with EN 50291-1:2018 must be fitted on every floor (ideally on stair landings), in all rooms with fuel-burning appliances, outside every bedroom, and in attached garages, basements and heated attics across EU residences to detect toxic carbon monoxide and prevent fatal poisoning during sleep.
Heat Alarms
Heat Alarms compliant with BS 5446-2:2003, are legally required to be installed in residential kitchens , boiler and fuel heating equipment rooms, garages, storage attics, woodworking workshops and laundry areas with high-power tumble dryers to prevent false smoke alarm activations caused by cooking fumes, high temperatures, dust, exhaust fumes, wood shavings and hot steam while reliably detecting heat from fire outbreaks.
Gas Alarms
Gas alarms complying with BS EN 50194-1:2023 shall be installed in all spaces equipped with gas-fired equipment including kitchens, boiler rooms, fuel appliance storage areas and attached garages to continuously detect flammable gas leaks and warn occupants against fire and explosion risks.
Vape Detectors
Vape detectors shall be primarily installed in school restrooms, changing rooms, dormitories, hallways and stairwells (classrooms are not mandatory unless full campus-wide non-vaping control is required) to identify e-cigarette aerosol emissions, enforce no-vaping policies, protect students and staff from exposure to harmful chemicals and maintain a healthy learning environment.
Water Detectors
Water detectors shall be installed in kitchens, laundry rooms boiler rooms and basement pipework areas and swimming pool areas to timely detect water overflow and pipe leakage, avoid water damage to building facilities and reduce property maintenance losses.
Carbon Dioxide Detectors
Carbon Dioxide detectors shall be installed in bedrooms, basements,storage rooms, home studies, offices, greenhouses and garages to continuously monitor carbon dioxide concentration, alert residents to poor ventilation risks and safeguard indoor breathing health.
